How Do We Describe Ourselves?

Classmates consider adjectives to describe each other, then go online to hunt for synonyms. Next, they rotate around the room and write the most accurate adjective for each of their friends on (nondigital) word clouds. Each adjective may only be used once, so the challenge is to find synonyms others haven't written yet. Vocabulary extends with every squeak of the dry erase marker. Finally, each student chooses their favorite adjective, then explains why it's the perfect descriptor.

Kindness in thinking creates profoundness.
Kindness in giving creates love."

Harvest = Joy

The class joins a couple members of the garden committee for the annual fall harvest. Kimora unearths the first beet.

Teamwork gets it done.

After picking loads of tomatoes and peppers, Sabine tugs on a vine with all her might (and eventually falls to the ground when it gives).

Ailynn and Sammy investigate a vine covered with tiny orbs that resemble mini watermelons.

Conner displays a perfect bell pepper.

Nylah asks, "What's this?"

A peculiar carrot brings a smile to Zack's face.

Milo and Claren transport a tomato vine twice their size.

Lake's bucket of tomatoes overruneth.

What happened to Sam's ears?

It's time to celebrate real food!
