Animation, Architecture, and Theater
Last week's field trip to UGA included a range of cross-curricular topics, including illustration, architecture, and theater.
John made real-world connections to the Athens, Greece/Athens, Georgia relationship we've been exploring in social studies as he admired Greek inspired architecture.
Niko, Tyrus, and Batiste enjoyed learning how still images can come alive.
Richard Neupert took us on a walk through animation history, from Steamboat Willie, to Pixar's Luxor Jr.
After their first taste of a college lecture, the kids enjoyed a live performance of Italo Calvino's The Parrot. The theatrical interpretation differed from the original (translated) story we read prior to the trip, which sparked reflective conversation on the bus ride home.
