IXL is a comprehensive website that offers a wide range of interactive games and practice. Without a membership the site offers a limited number of practice questions per day, but for homework, it's just enough to extend what we're covering in class each day. Click here to visit the third grade practice page, or explore the links below for specific skills.

A Descriptive Bunch
Classmates consider adjectives to describe each other, then go online to hunt for synonyms. Next, they rotate around the room and write the most accurate adjective for each of their friends on (nondigital) word clouds. Each adjective may be used only once, so the challenge is to find synonyms others haven't used yet.
Lastly, each student chooses their favorite adjective, then explains why it's the perfect descriptor on their word cloud. Lincoln is amazing.
Sa'riyah is kind.
Carl is intelligent.
Ben is stunning.
Maya is thoughtful.
Niko is athletic.
Trinity is sweet.
Batiste is calm.
Lillian is quick.
Abigail is native.
Stay tuned for more from a descriptive bunch...
